AVEVA Laser Modeller shortlisted for ONS Innovation Award

During April, AVEVA announced the release of AVEVA Laser Modeller, introducing a real breakthrough in the production of intelligent models from laser scan data. AVEVA Laser Modeller is a solution that allows users to rapidly and cost-effectively transform laser scan data into intelligent, as-built 3D plant models.

AVEVA Laser Modeller has now been shortlisted for an ONS Innovation Award.

AVEVA said:

'We are delighted that AVEVA Laser Modeller has been shortlisted for the Innovation award by the ONS Innovation committee. Laser Modeller is a unique 3D laser scanning software system which rapidly and cost-effectively transforms laser scan data into intelligent as-built 3D plant models, reducing 3D modelling time by up to 50%.'

AVEVA Laser Modeller was developed by  the 3D Data Capture of Excellence in Manchester, UK. This nomination is already considered as a great achievement by our team, who have worked diligently on this project. James Kirk, one of the many software engineers based at the CoE , and involved in the development project, said that ‘this was a challenging but extremely rewarding development project’.
