Date added: 2nd Nov 2012
Manchester, UK – 2 November 2012: AVEVA announced today that Wood Group PSN will present a case study, at SPAR Europe, on how it has reducedt he need to go offshore by at least 75%, saving time, money and reducing the risk to its employees by optimising its use of 3D scanning software for brownfield oil & gas environments.
Iain Greenhalgh, a representative of WG PSN North Sea Ltd who will present the case study said, “AVEVA solutions, including PDMS, LFM Server and AVEVA Laser Model Interface, have enabled new pipes, steelwork, electrical cable trays and instruments to be engineered within a challenging offshore brownfield environment that was never designed to exceed its 30 year operational life. The software has enabled piping, structural & electrical designers in multiple satellite locations around the world to access as-built platform data without having to leave the office.”
“We are very pleased that Wood Group PSN is able to share its positive experience of LFM”, said Bruce Douglas, Senior Vice-President, EDS Strategy & Marketing, AVEVA. “SPAR is an ideal event to present the case study and showcase AVEVA, incorporating LFM, 3D laser scanning software solutions. It is also the perfect opportunity to hold our annual LFM European User meeting since so many of our customers and partners attend SPAR. The meeting is the best opportunity for customers to give feedback directly on the current and future development of the LFM Suite of laser scanning software.”
SPAR Europe 2012 is being held from 12-14 November 2012 at the World Forum, The Hague, The Netherlands. Visitors to stand 3 at SPAR Europe will be able to see demonstrations of AVEVA latest laser technology software including AVEVA Laser Modeller, and the LFM Software solutions -- LFM Server and LFM Modeller.
